Spotlight On... Gina Ricci

This month the Spotlight is on Gina Ricci – a gorgeous shoe shop in Windermere, which offers a range of products from designer footwear to exquisite country wear. We asked the lovely Vanda to answer a few questions about Gina Ricci…

When did you open Gina Ricci and why? I took over Gina Ricci 11 years ago – it has always been a shoe shop for over 85 years and since a young age I have always had a passion for shoes, being a size 42 resulted in many struggles to find any sort of shoes that were comfortable. We always stock up to a size 8/42 and can therefore empathise with ladies who struggle to find good fitting shoes in the correct size.

Is there a particular look that you wanted to achieve in your store? We don’t have a particular look in our store, we feel for our customer clientele a more laid back casual atmosphere is better. However we are looking into a store re fit in the next 12 months, this will bring the shop completely up to date.

What are your current favourite brands from your store?

We love Cocorose because of the quality, comfort and practicality. We love the idea of taking your flats with you where ever you go because nothing is worse than sore feet! We also love Gabor because of the comfort factor, and love HB because of their uniqueness to styling.

What are your favourite Cocorose London lifestyle shoes?

I love the Hoxton pump because you can wear it with anything and it would fit so neatly in anyone’s handbag. The girls love the Stratford and the Shoreditch.

 What do you feel makes Gina Ricci special? Gina Ricci is special due to the vast range of good quality and classic styling we base all our products on. Another contributing factor is the massive size range we offer to all our customers, we attract a niche market of people who have small sized (or large) feet. We offer sizes 33 (UK1) right through to a 42 (UK8), with most size runs including half sizes too. plus our dedication to customer service. We pride ourselves on making every customer experience at Gina Ricci is a positive and worthwhile one. Every customer gets treat the same, whether they spend £1.99 or £299 – our motto is if you have the time to shop then we have the time to provide you with a wide choice. We go up and beyond any one else when it comes to customer service, once one of the girls drove through to the next village to deliver a pair of shoes our customer needed before the weekend and couldn’t get to us before then.­­­­

What are the essentials every woman needs in their wardrobe this season? I would say a pair of skinny jeans (white, denim) and a scallop hemmed top, teamed with a pair of Cocorose foldable shoes for a cool chic take on daytime dressing.
