Spotlight On...OKeefe

The Spotlight is on OKeefe, a gorgeous and stylish boutique owned by Janine OKeefe. Janine was kind enough to answer some of our questions about her store, and here they are...  

  When did you open Okeefe boutique and why did you open it?  I opened OKeefe in 2005 in the leafy village of Claygate and moved to our current location in Esher High Street in 2010.  I felt there was a real gap in the market for stylish, original and affordable fashion available for the forever forty year olds,  something different from the High Street.  I still have many of my original customer’s from those early days. Is there a particular look that you wanted to achieve in your store?  When we moved to Esher we had a much larger unit and loved doing the shopfit creating an urban and edgy interior with exposed brick walls, scaffolding for rails and sourced some lovely vintage furniture in the mix.   The store is much admired and very different from most Surrey independents.  

  What are your current favourite fashion items from your store?  The Fab suede jackets – a perfect  transactional piece  as one season leads to another .  I also love the Ash Jalouse ankle boots , perfect now with summer dresses and later with skinny jeans.   What are your favourite Cocorose London ballet pumps? The Sandringham grey snakeskin are amazing…     What do you feel makes Okeefe special?  Genuine Customer Service alongside some unique and exclusive collections. What are the essentials every woman needs in their wardrobe this season?  A couple of pairs of great jeans , a biker jacket,  a pea coat, some cashmere jumpers , a crisp white shirt,  a large cross body satchel bag , a great pair of  ballet pumps (Cocorose naturally) , several pairs of boots –short, flat and knee length and a few day to evening dresses  (not black) – Okeefe have it all -  Sorted !
