Did You Know This About Black Friday?

How are you?

Did you know that Black Friday traditionally referred to the day after the U.S Thanksgiving holiday and that it was considered the beginning of the festive shopping season?

But how did it come to be called 'Black Friday'? Well, apparently it's all to do with accounting and profitability. The old bookkeeping practice sees accountants record profits in black ink and losses in red ink. So the idea was that retail businesses would sell enough on this Friday (and the ensuing weekend) to put themselves "in the black” for the rest of the year.
