Keep Safe and Carry On

When I first came up with the phrase 'Considerately Designed for Smart Lifestyles' a number of years ago, I was of course referring to how our shoes have been thoughtfully designed to fit modern, 21st century lifestyles because of their foldable function and incredible comfort that's built in to our shoes.

Fast forward to 2020 and we find ourselves in a war against coronavirus Covid-19. Never before had I thought that the term 'considerate' would take on such a weighted meaning, reaching far further than what I originally intended it to for Cocorose.

This morning I woke up to see the image that's been circulating on social media of the Tesco Colney Hatch, in north London.

I couldn't believe it. This is my local Tesco, although I haven't been for months (it's too far to walk with Elin), and I've been shopping more locally in Muswell Hill and also on a smaller, more frequent basis as my shopping needs to fit in the bottom of the buggy.

The image shows what looks like a rampage through the aisle, with boxes and trolleys strewn around in what looks like dispicable selfishness of people only out for themselves; a direct result of fear and panic. Such a world away from the considerate and kind human beings that we all were not that very long ago.

What has happened to humanity? To respect, to responsibility, to caring and to looking out for others? It would appear that the coronavirus is bringing out the worst in some people. But I have faith in humanity and I know that there will be thousands of heart warming stories showing us that it also brings out the best in so many others.

So let's try and build on this positivity because only when we pull together, will we go forward.
