Storm Eunice reminded me of an experience I had during the very early days of Cocorose. I had taken a stand at The Clothes Show in Birmingham's NEC exhibition centre. At the time, I was still employed, and so I had to take annual leave to cover the show. I rented a van and packed up box after box of stock and merchandising equipment. I don't recall anyone ever telling me how back-breaking running your own business would be! To top it off, as I was lugging each box to the van and packing up, the rain was coming down in sheets and the wind ghastly cold, so before I even left home, I was absolutely shattered.
I remember this moment so vividly, because it really made me question why I was doing this. Wouldn't it be easier to stick with my normal, 9-5 job and not bother with all this hardship? I gritted my teeth. Surly The Clothes Show would make this all worth it in the end?! By the way, nothing could have made driving that huge van worth it 😅🤣 Bless Gareth, he had to rescue me at a drive-thru McDonald's which was an experience in itself, but that's another story! That aside, I'm forever the optimist and I truly believe that things happen for a reason. I returned home knackered (and with a vow to never drive a van again!) but most importantly, fulfilled and more determined than ever to make Cocorose work.
Fast forward a decade and here we are, still working incredibly hard, but far more experienced. Our collection has developed and grown over the years to include our award-winning, soft and foldable leather ballet flats and fun, luxury trainers. We've done our fair share of shows (and setting up never gets easier) but so far, I've stayed clear of driving a van 🙌

LITTLE EXPLORER
The other day, Eren and I headed over to Kensington Olympia to visit a trade show. Not easy, with a 5 month old, but he was in his element and really enjoyed the bright lights and all the visually stimulating stands at the show. Definitely a little explorer in the making!
